This is a beautiful stained glass butterfly mounted on a red cedar stand. The wings are made of an opaque purple swirly glass, while the body is made of an opaque blue glass. The butterfly was created using the Tiffany method, with copper foil applied to all edges and then soldered. Wire legs and antennae were added, and the butterfly was finished in a black patina. The cedar base has been sealed with a low sheen polyurethane.
The total height of the piece measures 3 1/8 inches tall by 2 3/8 inches wide by 2 3/4 inches deep, with the glass butterfly alone measuring 2 1/8 inches wide by 2 1/4 inches long (not counting the antennae).
