As I list these it is late summer and my flowers are covered with butterflies everyday but I know winter is coming and they will fly away so I made some that won't. These 3 butterflies are made from this great pale blue and plum swirly opaque glass which I mounted on this great piece of live edge wood. I added wire legs, eyes and antenna to each butterfly and finished them with a black patina. I have added a piece of jute for easy hanging
The middle butterfly has what might look like a crack on the wing but it is not a crack but rather a line that is a result of the way this glass was manufactured. I think that lines and creases add character but I wanted to make you aware of it.
The total height measures 19 3/4 inches with the hanging cord. The wood with butterflies overhanging measures 12 1/8 inches tall by 3 7/8 inches wide by over 3 1/8 inches deep. The larger butterflies measures 2 1/4 inches wide by about 2 1/4 inches long.
My pieces are designed to be used inside.
It would also make a great gift.
