This is a beautiful purple stained glass butterfly mounted on a wood stand. The wings are made of an purple glass, while the body is made of an blue glass. The butterfly was created using the Tiffany method, with copper foil applied to all edges and then soldered. Wire legs and antennae were added, and the butterfly was finished in a black patina. The wood base has been stained with a medium stain and sealed with a low sheen polyurethane.
The total height of the piece measures 3 1/2 inches tall by 2 3/4 inches wide by 2 3/8 inches deep, with the glass butterfly alone measuring 2 1/2 inches wide by 2 1/2 inches long (not counting the antennae).
